Day 8: Intent
So, you may be wondering why the IT Manager is sending out all of these e-mails about saving the church money. Good question! While I ran this series of messages by Craig before I began sending them, they are by no means official policies of the church.
The intent behind these messages is that Matthew Irvine, church member, has witnessed some areas where we could be better stewards of the money that God has entrusted to us. These e-mails could best be put under the category of “Matt’s Crusade of the Quarter.” By the way, I’m a crusader for life according to Dr. Bawcom!
I’m convicted by the Parable of the Talents, and I realize that we have been entrusted with much. As such, we’re accountable for much. While we are a far cry from being thrown into the darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth, we do have room to grow. We have room to be more fiscally responsible. What I ask, as a member of the church, is that we all do our part to be the best possible stewards of the money entrusted to us.
